Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Announce Support for US-Iran Deal and Palestine
The ministers praised Pakistan and Qatar’s mediation and backed a fast, verifiable agreement in the next round of US-Iran talks.
On Sunday, foreign ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye gathered in Cairo to welcome the Islamabad MoU between the United States and Iran, viewing it as a constructive step toward de-escalation.
The Islamabad MoU provides for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and launches a 60-day negotiation period on broader issues, including Iran's nuclear programme, to end the conflict between the United States and Iran.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and counterparts called on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who appreciated Pakistan's "constructive and responsible" role in promoting dialogue and diplomatic engagement across the region.
Reaffirming the centrality of the Palestinian cause to regional peace, the ministers underscored the need for an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The R-4 nations emphasized the "importance of achieving a swift and successful conclusion to the subsequent phase of negotiations," which aims to reach a lasting, verifiable, and mutually acceptable solution to remaining issues.
