According to the Spanish press, Madrid's hesitant approach to the F-35 has made Türkiye's national fighter jet, KAAN, a new alternative in Europe. While it is claimed that preliminary contacts have begun between Ankara and Madrid regarding KAAN and technology transfer, it has also been suggested that HÜRJET is being considered in Spain as a "transitional aircraft to KAAN".
