The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has published its weather report for September 17th. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in many parts of the country, with strong rainfall warnings issued for certain areas, particularly the inner Aegean region, western Inner Anatolia, the inland areas of the Western Black Sea, and the Lakes Region. In western Eastern Anatolia, winds are expected to reach speeds of 30-50 kilometers per hour.
The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that showers and thunderstorms are expected across a large part of the country. Rain will be heavy in Istanbul in the morning hours, and in many other cities, there is a risk of flooding, waterlogging, hail, and disruptions to transportation due to strong downpours. 🚆
Abdullah Macit, a weather forecast expert at the General Directorate of Meteorology, stated that heavy rainfall is expected in the northern, central, and western parts of the country, warning citizens against floods and water inundation. Macit added that air temperatures will fall below seasonal norms and that rainfall will intensify on Thursday and Friday in many regions, including the three major cities.

Meteorology expert Adil Tek stated that heavy rain will continue in Istanbul for three days, adding, "The rain will subside on Saturday and Sunday, and temperatures will rise." Tek also noted that the weather will cool down again after September 20th. Meanwhile, the Ankara Governorship warned that heavy rain is expected in the city tomorrow.

While the rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in some regions, AKOM reported that temperatures in Istanbul will drop to between 22-24 degrees Celsius due to northerly winds and cloudy weather.
