The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has issued a written statement regarding allegations that disciplinary action will be taken against academics who earn income by creating content on social media platforms.
Following an application by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), the Presidency announced that the income of academics from digital platforms falls under the prohibition on commercial activities in Article 657 of the Civil Servants Law. Some academics have begun shutting down their channels.
