Tirupati Laddu Prasadam Made From Palm Oil, Chemicals, Says ED, Arrests Ghee Company Owner

The agency said adulterated ghee supplied to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams was made with palm oil and chemicals, and fraudulent supplies were valued at Rs 230 crore.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested a ghee company promoter on money laundering charges. Adulterated ghee used for Tirupati Laddu prasadam was allegedly made with palm oil. This fraudulent supply to TTD was valued at approximately Rs 230 crore. The arrested promoter manufactured about Rs 96 crore of this adulterated product. He also coordinated supplies through several front entities to conceal the fraud.
