- The DOJ is asking the court to declare the program unlawful, enter a permanent injunction stopping similar race‑based programs, and award equitable relief for excluded teachers; the case is assigned to U.S. District Judge Mary S. McElroy.
- The filing comes as the administration frames the lawsuit as part of its effort against diversity, equity and inclusion programs, responding to disparities where Providence students of color represent 80% of enrollment but only 20% of teachers were minority members.
