Tributes after teen killed by falling tree in Stafford
Police said nothing could be done to save the 15-year-old after the tree fell on him and a cordon remained in place during inquiries.
On Saturday, 15-year-old Brodan Dubickas died after a falling tree struck him at Holmcroft Park in Stafford. Emergency services arrived shortly after 18:30 BST but could not save him.
Staffordshire Police confirmed the incident occurred Saturday evening, stating "nothing could be done to save the boy." He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 19:30 BST.
Dubickas was a Year 10 student at Sir Graham Balfour School and former pupil of Tillington Manor Primary School. Officials remembered him as a "special young man" with a "positive spirit."
Stafford Rangers and the Stafford & District Sunday Football League held one-minute silences to honor the teenager. Tributes on Facebook described him as a "lovely polite gentle soul."
A police cordon remains at Holmcroft Park to facilitate ongoing inquiries. Sir Graham Balfour School will provide support services on Tuesday for pupils affected by the tragedy.
