The world is moving towards what scientists already call the sixth global extinction. The rate of species loss is accelerating and animals and plants become extinct each year, often before they are even discovered and known to humans. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) confirmed that 44 different species were declared extinct in 2025, both from flora and fauna.
