The Interurban Mexico-Toluca Train, known as El Insurgente, already operates on its complete route from Zinacantepec to Observatorio after the inauguration this Monday of the Santa Fe-Observatorio stretch. This priority project of the Government of Mexico connects the Metropolitan Zone of Toluca with the west of Mexico City in just one hour and travels 58 kilometers of electrified double track, of which 86% pass in high viaduct.

Andrés Lajous, general director of the Agency for Trains and Integrated Public Transport, said in ‘Aristegui en Vivo’ that with the opening of the last stretch of the Interurban Mexico-Toluca train the complete route from Zinacantepec to the Observatory terminal can be carried out in about 50 minutes.
