The trend of travel receipts remained strong in the seven months of 2026, further strengthening the country's external service balance.
According to Bank of Greece (TTE) balance of payments data, in July this year travel receipts amounted to €4.7 billion at current prices, up 7.2% year-on-year. It is noted that July is the month with the second highest participation in annual travel receipts (18.7% in 2025), after August (19.3% in 2025). Travel payments, i.e. spending by Greek residents during their trips abroad, amounted to €0.4 billion, registering an annual increase of 23.0%.…
