The nationwide protest of train drivers announced for Friday may be shortened by half.
"As a sign of goodwill, we will appeal to the National Council to adopt a resolution to end tomorrow's train drivers' protest at 12:00 noon, not midnight," Leszek Miętek, president of the Polish Railway Engineers' Union, announced after a conversation with Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak. The activist admitted that the talks with the Minister of Infrastructure were "constructive."
The accident near Przysucha is a red line. Railway workers are demanding urgent safety improvements at rail-road crossings.
