Following an accident in which 14 soldiers died during exercises in the Caspian Sea, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave his subordinates 10 days to prepare a plan for reforming the armed forces, Kazakh media reported.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has ordered sweeping reforms in the military after 14 soldiers were killed in training. He introduced a new defense minister, saying the armed forces were stuck in the past century and that a reform plan must be prepared within 10 days.
