Tkachuk Says He’s Been ‘Fully Committed’ to Senators, City of Ottawa
On Wednesday, Senators captain Brady Tkachuk addressed media at the Canadian Tire Centre, reaffirming his commitment to the team and dismissing trade rumors as a "distraction."
Speculation regarding the 26-year-old forward's future intensified following the Senators' first-round playoff sweep by the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Tkachuk missed Monday's locker cleanout to be in New Jersey with his wife, Emma, for the birth of their daughter, Lyla; he has two years remaining on his $8.2 million US contract.
"Quite honestly, it's becoming frustrating," Tkachuk said regarding persistent rumors, noting plans to meet with Steve Staios, the club's president of hockey operations and general manager, in a couple of weeks.
Despite scoring 22 goals and 37 assists over 60 games this season, the captain went scoreless during the playoff series and expressed gratitude to fans for their support throughout the year.
