- On Saturday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved renaming the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, after Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi during a condolence visit at his mosque in Bauchi State.
- Citing legacy, Tinubu said the renaming honors Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi's lifelong dedication to education, humility and service, aiming to inspire young Nigerians to value knowledge and integrity.
- Welcomed by Bauchi and Plateau state governors, Tinubu arrived at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport with a Guard of Honour from the Nigerian Air Force, accompanied by high-ranking officials including Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
- Expressing gratitude, Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State Governor, thanked President Tinubu for honoring the late cleric and the state, while Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi, eldest son, expressed appreciation for the visit and immortalization.
- The late cleric, who died on November 27 at age 98, passed at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital and was buried November 28; his teachings on tolerance shaped national unity.
