'A Joke': Timbers Lose to Vancouver After Penalty, Late Goal
Thomas Müller and Sebastian Berhalter scored in stoppage time as Vancouver overcame a 2-1 deficit and outshot Portland 22-9.
On April 4, the Vancouver Whitecaps rallied past the Portland Timbers 3-2 at Place before an announced crowd of 25,465, securing victory with stoppage-time goals.
Following a two-week international break, both teams returned to Major League Soccer action. Edier Ocampo opened the scoring for Vancouver just six minutes into the match.
Vancouver controlled 61% of possession and outshot Portland 22-9 throughout the match, maintaining dominance in front of the home crowd.
Thomas Muller converted a penalty in the first minute of injury time to level the score at 2-2. Sebastian Berhalter struck from the top of the box four minutes later to seal the 3-2 win.
The Whitecaps host Host New York City on April 11, while the Timbers return home to host Host Los Angeles on the same date.
