The Gelderland municipality of Tiel is getting aldermen again after more than three months. Following a political row, the municipal executive had consisted solely of the acting mayor, José van Egmond, since June 10.
They were both keen on the idea. And so, on Wednesday, Lia de Waard-Oudesluijs and Huub van Oorschot were officially sworn in as – temporary – aldermen of Tiel. With this, Mayor José van Egmond, after 112 days, is finally no longer governing the city alone. To her expressed relief.
