A 29-year-old man was held in pre-trial detention for being suspected of several thefts, "by sticão", committed against elderly people in the council of Mafra, district of Lisbon, today reported to the National Republican Guard (GNR).
The detainee is the second suspect in the investigation. Previously, another 25-year-old man had been arrested at the end of June and placed in pre-trial detention.
The GNR military carried out a house search warrant at the council of Torres Vedras, where they located the suspect. The first suspect was arrested at the end of June.
Elvis B. (29) from Romania has been sentenced to three years in prison. According to the court, he is responsible for nine burglaries, mainly targeting elderly women. He stole in Putten and Nijkerk, among other places.
