Three Motorcyclists Killed in Idaho Crash Identified
A pickup driver faces three felony manslaughter counts after the crash killed two Larimer County deputies and a third rider, officials said.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, three Northern Colorado motorcyclists died in a collision on U.S. 12 near Kooskia, Idaho, after a pickup truck driver attempted an illegal pass in a no-passing zone.
According to Idaho State Police, 60-year-old Neal Bewer of Colorado Springs crossed the double yellow center line at milepost 113 while attempting to pass another vehicle, striking the three motorcyclists head-on.
The victims were identified as 35-year-old Ethan Powers of Timnath, 45-year-old Jeremy Coleman of Berthoud, and 26-year-old Nathan McCormick of Loveland; two were Larimer County Sheriff's Office employees.
Bewer was booked into the Idaho County Jail on three counts of felony vehicular manslaughter; as of Thursday, June 18, 2026, she remained in custody with no bond set.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office and Colorado Fraternal Order of Police honored the victims as dedicated public servants, while a GoFundMe campaign created by Berthoud resident Abby Decker supports McCormick's family raising two young children.
