Thousands of University of Sydney staff to strike over AI

The 24-hour stoppage will disrupt classes and campus access as the union seeks enforceable limits on AI use, a 20% pay rise and higher superannuation.

The union is demanding “provisions to protect staff against any adverse effects of artificial intelligence systems in the workplace,” as well as a 20 per cent payrise for all staff and 17 per cent superannuation for casual workers in a log of claims seen by the Herald.
