Thousands of grills recalled due to risk of electric shock
Consumers should stop using the grills and request a free repair kit after a grounding wire defect created an electric shock hazard, officials said.
- On Thursday, Char-Broil announced a recall of about 10,605 Bistro Pro electric grills due to an electric shock hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
- The recall stems from a grounding wire connected to the heating element that can disconnect, eliminating fault protection and creating an electric shock hazard.
- Only units with manufacturing date codes 2510, 2511, or 2512 are affected, with the model and serial-number label located on the bottom shelf or side bar of grills.
- Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grills and contact Char-Broil to receive a free repair kit.
- Retailers including Ace Hardware, Lowe, Walmart, Wayfair, QVC, and Amazon sold the products from October 2025 through June 2026 for approximately $150 to $250.
