The forint strengthened against both the euro and the dollar in international currency trading on Friday. The exchange rate is mostly influenced by the dollar, which has hit a three-month low against the euro following the US bond market intervention. Since there is a bank holiday in Hungary due to the holiday, the interbank market is closed: all this causes illiquidity in forint trading.
The forint strengthened against major currencies in international foreign exchange trading on Friday morning compared to its previous afternoon quotation.
