Therapy dog graduates with New Hampshire eighth-grade class
The school arranged for Lola to attend after students asked for her, capping 15 years of visits and pandemic-era support.
Lola, a New Hampshire therapy dog, attended the Epsom Central School graduation after students requested her presence at the ceremony, fulfilling a wish the school's adults made happen.
For the past 15 years, Lola has served as an assistant to the occupational therapist at Epsom Central School, becoming a big figure in the school community over the decades.
Lisa Freeman, who works at the school, said Lola was especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic by appearing in videos for the kids, noting "kids come in and see her, she wanders the halls."
Affection for the therapy dog remains high among the school community, with Freeman adding, "They absolutely love her and really appreciate her being a part of our district."
Continuing her work at the school, Lola still pops in a few days per week to interact with students and staff at Epsom Central School.
