A mountain of snow blocked the view of Main Street in Great Barrington when the photograph shown above was taken circa 1920. The shovelers are not identified, but the picture was found in an album owned by the late Truman and Edith Wheeler. This view is in contrast to the present-day photograph shown below where hard-working DPW crews had already cleared the snow from a recent storm.
