The US administration has reportedly asked European Union (EU) countries to release one-third of their strategic diesel reserves onto the market in an effort to lower rising fuel prices.
According to Politico, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright proposed that EU countries release 120 million barrels of diesel from their strategic reserves within 180 days. This amount represents more than a third of the EU's total diesel reserves of approximately 315 million barrels.
