- On Wednesday, the United States and Argentina launched the Andes-Atlantic Infrastructure Corridor, a joint initiative to modernize infrastructure connecting critical-mineral-rich regions and the Vaca Muerta energy basin to Atlantic ports.
- Under the US-Argentina Build the Future Framework, the nations aim to mobilize up to $7bn in financing through 2027 to alleviate transport bottlenecks for gas, oil, copper, and lithium exports.
- A consortium including Pumpco, Bonatti, and Contreras Hermanos secured a contract worth more than $1bn, while the U.S. Export-Import Bank submitted a non-binding proposal for up to $6bn in long-term financing.
- The administration is "very focused on economic diplomacy," Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau stated, as a U.S. State Department delegation prepares to visit Buenos Aires, Jujuy, and Salta in October.
- Operations are projected to begin in 2031, with total investment estimated at $51bn; the plan also covers Arsat digital infrastructure, including fiber-optic networks, data centers, and satellite connectivity.
