Bogotá. The United Nations (UN) urged yesterday to take urgent measures to protect human rights defenders in Colombia, after verifying 972 homicides between 2016 and 2025 and documenting multiple threats and attacks against them.
In Colombia, nearly 1,000 human rights activists have been killed since the signing of the peace agreement with the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in 2016.
