According to a Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, 2 Bosphorus bridges, 8 highways, and 2 ring roads under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) have been included in the privatization program for a period of 30 years.

The Privatization Administration, in a statement regarding allegations that bridges and highways were being sold, explained that the studies were focused on evaluating a model based on transferring the operating rights for a specific period while keeping ownership under state control.
