Speaking in court regarding the Girne ship disaster, the Investigating Police stated that some of the doors in the watertight compartments on the ship were open. The detention period for the nine suspects arrested in connection with the passenger ship sinking off the coast of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus has been extended by seven days. The death toll from the accident has risen to 18, while 10 people are reported missing.
