Metallica Bring Completely Different Show to Night Two at Sphere
The 16-song set included Devil's Dance and The Outlaw Torn, both played live for the first time in years, as Metallica kept its no-repeat format.
On Saturday, Metallica performed the second show of their 'Life Burns Faster' residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, delivering an entirely different setlist from Thursday's opening night through their 'No Repeat' format.
The 'Life Burns Faster' residency spans 24 performances through March 13, 2027, utilizing the Sphere's advanced 16K resolution wraparound screen to create fully immersive visual environments for attendees.
Saturday's setlist featured rare deep cuts, including 'Devil's Dance' for the first time in 18 years and 'The Outlaw Torn' for the first time in seven years.
This residency mirrors their ongoing M72 tour, which has played to more than 4 million fans since 2023; the band recently announced 12 additional North American dates for next year.
Drummer Lars Ulrich conceived the residency after seeing U2 perform at the Sphere three years ago, saying the experience allows the band to 'reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting.
