The Royal Navy Is Also Studying to Equip Its Frigates with the Dragonfire Laser Weapon, and Not Just Its Destroyers.

The UK Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the DragonFire-directed laser energy system, developed by an industrial consortium led by MBDA UK together with Leonardo UK, QinetiQ and the state-owned DSTL laboratory, could be deployed on a wider spectrum of Royal Navy ships, explicitly including the frigates of the Type 26 and Type 31 classes, beyond the initially planned destroyers.
