This Friday five days of the national strike organized by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities (Conaie), a scenario that is not new to Ecuadorians. The last was in the government of Guillermo Lasso, in June 2022, which lasted 18 days.
In the midst of an indigenous strike that takes its fifth day, the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, dismissed Friday night any dialogue with the leadership of the country's largest indigenous organization, and emphasized that he will not back down on the elimination of the diesel subsidy.
The president, Daniel Noboa, assured this September 26, that he will not seek indefinite re-election in case a Constituent Assembly is installed to draft a new Magna Carta. “I will be two periods, maximum.
