Iraqi sources reported the arrest of a prominent ISIS leader in Kirkuk.
On Sunday, the Security Information Cell announced the overthrow of the terrorist Abu Sahir in Kirkuk. In a statement, the cell said: "The Military Intelligence Directorate was able to carry out a thorough pre-emptive operation that resulted in the arrest of one of the wanted terrorist elements in accordance with article 4/1 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, empowered by Abu Sahir, which is a high-profile target of the security services.
Iraqi sources reported the arrest of an ISIS leader in Kirkuk in a preemptive operation by the country's military intelligence.
Abu Saher, one of the most prominent ISIS leaders in Kirkuk, was captured by police as a valuable target for the classified security services of the Iraqi Military Intelligence Forces.
The statement said: "In a meticulous pre-emptive operation, the Military Intelligence Service succeeded in arresting one of the wanted elements known as "Abu Saher" in accordance with Article 4/1 of the Anti-Terrorism Law; this individual is one of the important targets of the security institutions."
