Ukrainian drones struck Volgograd and Samara overnight on October 2. Andrey Bocharov, governor of the Volgograd region, said there had been a “massive drone attack on industrial infrastructure” but did not specify which facilities had been targeted. He said a residential building caught fire and one person was injured.
Ukrainian drones attacked Russia's energy infrastructure again on Friday night. In Volgograd, targets in the area of a large refinery and chemical plant were apparently hit, Russian-language channels report after analyzing the footage. In Samara, they say, a major distribution hub has been hit, where four oil pipelines converge.
Explosions and fires were recorded at night in Volgograd and Samara; in the Volgograd region, drones and anti-aircraft attacks were reported to have been carried out, and in Samara, an important oil facility was reported to have been hit.
