Ryan Rigmaiden says the offense has advanced to the playoff package used in Regina as the Lions chase a Grey Cup title.
- The B.C. Lions opened training camp this week in Kamloops with general manager Ryan Rigmaiden expressing optimism about winning the 113th Grey Cup in Calgary on Nov. 15.
- Head coach Buck Pierce and quarterback Nathan Rourke have significantly advanced the offense, implementing the playoff package from Regina. The offense has evolved from basic concepts to what Rigmaiden describes as "post-graduate work."
- While the Lions lost all-star tackle Jarell Broxton to Winnipeg in free agency, general manager Rigmaiden hopes Dejon Allen regains his form. New additions Darnell Sankey and Casey Sayles strengthen the roster.
- Winning the Western Division is critical to secure home field advantage in the Western Final. Rigmaiden noted that "it is hard to go through Saskatchewan and it is hard to go through Winnipeg."
- Defensively, the team faces secondary questions after losing Robert Carter Jr. to the Indianapolis Colts. Jackson Findlay will man the safety spot while veterans Garry Peters and T.J. Lee provide experience.
