The Ministry of the Interior has filed a complaint with the National Tax and Customs Office regarding the state aid of almost 25 billion forints provided to Ferencváros' Fradiváros project. According to the suspicion, the club spent most of the public money originally intended for infrastructure development on operating costs and the purchase of professional football players' playing rights, while the planned sports complex was not built.
The club must repay almost 25 billion.
The club has three options: repay the grant in a lump sum within 30 days, or request 12-month installments.
According to the ministry, based on the available documents, suspicions of budget fraud, mismanagement, abuse of office and abetment to crime, as well as negligent management and use of false private documents may arise, among other things.
