JPNN.com, JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Suahasil Nazara stated that the debt obligations issued in the context of handling Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) during the 1997–1998 crisis have been paid off.
The debt securities for handling the 1997-1998 crisis were paid off in August 2026. Suahasil said the payment was made using BI's surplus.
The Ministry of Finance stated that the debt securities for handling the 1997–1998 crisis were paid off in August 2026 using Bank Indonesia's surplus deposited into the State Treasury.
