France, Luxembourg, Malta and Monaco officially recognized the state of Palestine yesterday. They did it at the United Nations General Assembly. Over the weekend, the Palestinian state was recognized by Great Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal.
Mike Waltz, the new US ambassador to the UN, told the Security Council that there is “no Palestinian state to recognize.” This statement comes after several Western powers, such as France and the United Kingdom, have recognized Palestine and issued their support for the two-state solution from the General Assembly.
