Lawson Replaces Injured Hadjar at Red Bull Racing for Dutch Grand Prix
Oracle Red Bull Racing confirmed on Wednesday that Isack Hadjar will miss the Dutch Grand Prix, with New Zealander Liam Lawson stepping up from The Racing Bulls to deputize for The Frenchman at Zandvoort.
Hadjar sustained a wrist injury during the summer break, forcing him to withdraw from the event; Red Bull confirmed the driver change hours after the report emerged.
Replacing Lawson, Yuki Tsunoda will join Arvid Lindblad at The Racing Bulls for the Dutch Grand Prix, filling the vacancy created by the reshuffle. Tsunoda wished Hadjar a "speedy recovery."
Tsunoda stated he is "happy to get back behind the wheel this weekend" for the team, while The Racing Bulls praised both drivers for their "adaptability" at short notice.
Zandvoort hosts Max Verstappen for his final home grand prix, an event dropping off the calendar after this season, while the reshuffle offers Lawson an opportunity to compete in senior machinery.
