The leadership of the European Union believes that it has an adequate legal framework to protect against misuse of artificial intelligence, primarily thanks to the Regulation on Artificial Intelligence (AI Act) that came into force in the summer. On the other hand, the latest Eurobarometer surveys show that around 80 percent of European Union citizens still express fear and demand the introduction of extremely strong security measures.
