Government Buys New System for Drone Shield over Denmark - The Copenhagen Post
Terma’s Helion platform will give Danish forces and authorities real-time drone detection and response, after airport suspensions raised security concerns.
On Wednesday, the Danish government ordered an anti-drone command and control system from defence contractor Terma to strengthen the country's ability to detect and respond to drone threats in real time.
Copenhagen Airport temporarily suspended flights last September following reports of flying objects thought to be drones, though police closed their investigation in June after finding no evidence.
Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus called the Helion platform a "major step towards increasing protection against drones," as Terma's system combines sensor data to form shared situational awareness.
European NATO members are boosting defence investments to improve deterrence against Russia and demonstrate to President Donald Trump that allies take his burden-shifting demands seriously.
Neither the Danish government nor Terma disclosed the financial value of the order, though the system will give armed forces and other authorities enhanced ability to detect and act on drone threats.
