The busiest Czech highway D1 between Brno and Prague will be closed for two nights. Technicians will conduct stress tests on the reconstructed Šmejkalka bridge at kilometer 24 from Friday, August 21 to Saturday, and then again from Saturday to Sunday, August 23. The D1 motorway between exits 21 Mirošovice and 29 Chocerady will be closed in both directions for two weekend nights due to a load test of the Šmejkalka bridge. The closure will last from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Friday night to Saturday and from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday night, Luděk Hubáček from the Roads and Highways Directorate (ŘSD) informed in a press release.
