Bank of France sued over alleged complicity in Rwanda genocide
A complaint has been filed against the Banque de France, the country’s central bank, for having authorised wire transfers that allegedly facilitated the arming of Hutu forces during the 1994 Rwanda genocide.
A complaint of complicity in genocide and crimes against humanity was filed against the Bank of France, according to the investigation cell of Radio France and Libération. The bank is suspected of having validated several transfers of funds that could have facilitated the purchase of weapons by genocidal forces.
The Dafroza couple and Alain Gauthier and the Collective of Civil Parties for Rwanda have just filed a complaint against the Bank of France for complicity in genocide and crimes against humanity. In question, the authorization of transfers that were allegedly used to acquire military equipment.
The Civil Parties Collective for Rwanda filed a complaint on 4 December against the Bank of France. It is accused of having approved transfers that would have helped genocidal forces during the genocide of the Tutsi.
The Banque de France has been charged with genocide and crimes against humanity for allegedly validating transfers of funds used in the massacres in Rwanda.
