Zurich Airport relaxes the 100 millilitre rule on aircraft. As of Friday, passengers departing from Kloten will be able to carry up to two litres of liquid in the cabin thanks to the introduction of new scanners.
The new scanners at Zurich Airport make the packaging of liquids obsolete into transparent bags. Therefore, passengers can carry up to 2 litres of liquids in their hand luggage from Friday. However, the whole thing has a catch.
Zurich Airport repeals the 100 ml rule for locally departing passengers. This makes it possible to completely modernise security control with CT scanners.
New CT scanners enable a three-dimensional analysis of hand luggage and are thus able to reliably control liquids and electronic devices.
