Journalist Tuğba Tekerek was reportedly detained as part of operations targeting LGBT+ associations and human rights advocates in 15 provinces. Tekerek, who was detained for a news report she wrote about the LGBT+ movement in Georgia, was taken to Ankara Courthouse to give a statement.
Journalist Tuğba Tekerek, who was detained in the LGBT+ operations organized under the name "My Family is Safe," sent a note through her lawyer. In her statement, Tekerek said, "I only did journalism."
The Contemporary Journalists Association (ÇGD) reacted to the detention of BirGün newspaper reporter Sarya Toprak and ARD TV reporter Şener Azak while they were covering a news story in Çağlayan, and to the detention of journalist Tuğba Tekerek due to a news story published in KAOS GL.
