- Recently, Tesla Inc. activated its first V4 Supercharger cabinets across the United States, delivering 500 kW for passenger EVs and up to 1,200 kW for the Tesla Semi, charging two vehicles per unit.
- Facing high infrastructure costs, Tesla prioritized modularity and shared components, developing V4 to support fleet adoption of the Tesla Semi and lower network capex to $8-12B, targeting 20-30% of the North American freight market by 2028.
- Each V4 cabinet supports up to eight stalls, offers over three times the power density, and uses medium-voltage transformers to cut interconnection queues from 12-18 months to 3-6 months, Tesla said.
