Tesla recalls some Cybertrucks for wheel issue and more than 200,000 other cars for camera failure

Tesla says the defects could increase crash risk, and it will replace brake parts or update software at no cost to owners.

  • Tesla announced recalls affecting 173 Cybertrucks with faulty brake rotors and more than 200,000 other vehicles due to a software issue rendering rearview cameras inoperable.
  • Kelley Blue Book managing editor Sean Tucker explained that a production change involving grease on lug nuts was not communicated to the factory floor in time, causing vibrations that could crack the brake rotors.
  • Tesla stated that "brake rotor stud holes may crack and allow the stud to separate from the wheel hub" during high-severity cornering; the company is not aware of any collisions, fatalities, or injuries related to the issue.
