Tesco Upgrades Clubcard Scheme with 'Exciting' New Way to Earn Points
Clubcard members can earn 1 point for every £1 spent on charging after linking their account to the Be.EV app, Tesco said.
On Thursday, Tesco announced an upgrade to its Clubcard scheme, allowing the UK's 24 million members to earn one point for every £1 spent charging electric vehicles at partner locations.
The charging network, founded in Greater Manchester in 2019, operates more than 2,500 charging bays across 680 sites, with some units already installed at Tesco Express stores.
Drivers must link their Clubcard accounts within the partner's app to access rewards; once connected, points are collected automatically with each charge, eliminating manual action.
Loyalty Director Shama Wilson said the partnership makes "the switch to electric genuinely worth it," noting that "pairing reliable ultra-rapid charging with rewards people actually value is how you make EV ownership feel effortless."
With more shoppers opting for electric vehicles, Tesco anticipates high engagement with this Clubcard addition, expecting the new reward structure to resonate with customers prioritizing sustainable transport.
