Why Are Giants Working Out CB Terrion Arnold Amid Felony Charges?
Terrion Arnold’s on-field upside and veteran-minimum cost are drawing interest as teams weigh his felony kidnapping and armed robbery charges, officials said.
On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks hosted free-agent cornerback Terrion Arnold for a tryout at team headquarters, following his June release from the Detroit Lions amid felony charges.
Prosecutors accuse the 23-year-old of orchestrating a February kidnapping in Tampa, Florida, to recover stolen property valued at more than $200,000, resulting in eight felony charges.
Head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed Monday that the team will conduct 'due diligence,' noting "there's a lot of people in Terrion's corner that we respect" regarding his character.
The New Orleans Saints and New York Giants are also reportedly evaluating Arnold, while Seattle's secondary remains unsettled after losing Riq Woolen and suffering injuries to Julian Neal and Michael Dansby.
Arnold awaits an arraignment hearing Thursday, leaving his playing availability uncertain. Any signing would reflect the Seahawks' philosophy of 'chasing edges' to improve the roster.
