Ted Danson Details His "Humbling" Health Scare
The 78-year-old said the scare made him stop putting off healthier habits and start meditating twice a day with Mary Steenburgen.
On Wednesday, Emmy winner Ted Danson, 78, revealed he recently experienced a 'health scare' on his podcast 'Where Everybody Knows Your Name.' The 'Cheers' alum described the event as 'humbling,' noting it brought a realization about his own mortality.
Danson had delayed prioritizing healthy habits for years, but the 'health scare' prompted him to reevaluate his lifestyle. He confirmed he is 'totally fine' and called the experience 'liberating,' marking a turning point in his approach to wellness.
The 'Man on the Inside' star is now meditating twice daily with his longtime wife, Mary Steenburgen. Danson said, 'I am meditating now twice a day with Mary,' confirming his commitment to the new regimen.
Danson told guest Valerie Bertinelli that the greatest gift from his experience is 'you can be curious about other people.' He believes being supportive and caring is 'the best thing' he can offer for the rest of his life.
The 'Cheers' alum emphasized that facing his mortality became a 'real' moment for personal growth. He noted that allowing himself to experience pain helped reach joy, marking a significant shift in his perspective on life.
