The deal is perfect: the MotoGP team KTM-Tech3 has signed Italian Luca Marini from the coming season. Valentino Rossi's 29-year-old half-brother was Moto2 Vice World Champion in 2020. He joined the Royal Class the following year, and in 2023 he won Ducati for the Rossi racing stable VR46 his only two podium places. Since 2024 Marini has started for the Honda factory team, in the current world championship he ranks tenth.
The Italian driver leaves Honda after 3 seasons and joins the Austrian house's satellite team replacing Enea Bastianini at the beginning of the new technical regulations.
